About Preschool
For the 2020-2021 school year, the Alta Sierra preschool has been suspended. If you would like an opportunity to have your child in a preschool, please contact Cottage Hill Elementary at (530) 268-2808.
Welcome to the Alta Sierra Preschool
We have two great preschool classes to offer. We have a 4-year-old class that meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and a 3-year-old class that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both classes meet from 8:15 am to 11:15 am.
The preschool is located on the Alta Sierra School campus in room 7. The program is divided into three twelve week sessions, beginning after the regular school starts and ending at the end of May. Preschool will follow the school calendar for all holidays, seasonal breaks, professional development days and snow days.
Each class provides your child with the opportunity for social & emotional development as well as school readiness preparation. The classes are designed to meet the needs of children individually and as a whole unit. Activities and curriculum are age and developmental stage appropriate. The preschool has their own time on kindergarten playground during recess. We also visit the school's library and computer lab. When age appropriate, we are able to attend school wide assemblies.
