Happy Fall Break!

The students have been working hard and I am sure they will all enjoy a week off.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can all enjoy some fun activities outside!

Students came home with work to do on Monday, October 26, for the week of October 26th.  They do not have to do any work over the break, but they can certainly begin if they choose to.

We will have a check-in Zoom meeting on Monday, October 26, at 1:00-1:30 for 4th grade, and 1:30-2:00 for 5th grade. Please have your child access the meeting through the link posted in their Google Classroom under their email name. As always, please do not copy the link onto any social media site. If you are unable to join, you may call the school at 272-2319 to check in with me on Monday.

We will be celebrating Halloween in our classroom on Friday, October 30.  Students may come to school in costume.  Please no weapons, full face masks or scary costumes.  We don’t want anyone to have nightmares!  We will do a few academics and then a pumpkin-themed class activity.  If you would like to send a treat it needs to be packaged, not something made at home.  Please do not send anything that contains peanuts, or any other nut, and no sesame seeds, please. Themed trinkets for all students would be fun, too. We have a total of 23 students.

Other donations needed at this time: Bottled water, gourds for Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Parent teacher conferences will be November 23 and 24.  I will be sending out a sign up genius when we return from Fall Break.  These will be in person unless you would like to have a Zoom conference.  There will be a plexiglass divider and we will all wear masks.  Surfaces will be cleaned between conferences.  I really hope to see you all in person so we can talk about your wonderful student.

If you can, please participate in the Read-a-Thon fundraiser that is being sponsored by our wonderful PTC.  This is a fundraiser for the school in lieu of the jog-a-thon.  We hope that it is as successful. It is on now until October 30. All students were shown how to log in their minutes on their Chromebook in class.
