If you have 3 children from either Alta Sierra or Magnolia AND you have subscribed to the school and teacher pages, you will receive one email that contains all of the updates. The goal is to make communication easy for our parents as they could be getting information from two schools and 5 teachers, all in one concise email.

Friday 3/4: There's a Wocket in My Pocket: We'll make little "critters" for our pockets

Students may wear costumes to school but please take note of the following guidelines:
1. Costumes could get torn or dirty. Please send a change of clothes
2. Costume masks or face paint may be worn during the parade but not in class.
3. No weapon props are allowed. knives, swords, guns etc.
4. Please keep gory, bloody or terrifying costumes at home
Parents are invited to enjoy the costumes!
Our parade will begin at 8:15 am.
Parents, please spread out along the fence on the grass field and our classes will parade by the audience!
The Alta Sierra Student Council is collecting orders for school spirit t-shirts ($8) and hoodies ($28). A google form will be emailed to each family and you can also access it by clicking on the title of this news story. The link is on that page. Payment is due on delivery. This is not a fundraiser. We just want kids to have a school shirt. Click here to order!

Welcome back to school staff appreciation brunch
Alta Sierra PTC
Let's start the school year off with some positivity and appreciation for the hard-working staff and teachers of Alta Sierra Elementary! On Monday we will be treating our staff and teachers to a delicious and healthy brunch. We have about 35 staff members to feed and treat. If you are able to help donate any funds to accomplish this the PTC would be very grateful for your support! We are looking to raise $15 per staff member to cover the brunch.

Learn at Home Days - Feb 18 and Feb 19
Good afternoon PRUSD Families,
PRUSD staff had the opportunity to receive the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccination in January.
February 17th is the scheduled date for the second shot for our staff. Reports have concluded that more people have a reaction to the second shot than the first which could keep them out of school. For this reason, we are moving instruction on February 18th and 19th to distance learning. Teaching and learning will be via distance learning on those two days. We will resume back to the regular hybrid schedule on February 22nd. We hope that this is one more step that our staff has taken to get all students back on our campuses.

Great Kindness Week Challenge
We are joining the Great Kindness Week Challenge! January 25-29
We all want kinder kids. Help them visualize what kindness looks like and fill out the kindness tracking form that comes home with them or is in their D.L. packets. Then get out there and find an opportunity to show your kindness. Take a picture or your student being kind and send it to [email protected] or submit to your teacher.
