TK & Kindergarten Information Night - March 14

Attention Parents! Our TK & Kindergarten Information Night is coming up on March 14 at 6:15pm in our Multi-Purpose Room.

We will answer all questions, pass out enrollment packets, and sign up for our screening appointments at this meeting.

Can't make it? No problem! Just contact the office after March 14 to get your needed materials.

All screening appointments will be done on Tuesday, March 29.

Magnolia Intermediate 5th grade Parent Information Night - March 7

Attention 5th grade parents!

Magnolia Intermediate will be hosting a Parent Information Night on March 7 at 7pm (rooms A5 & A6). This night is for current 5th grade parents to come and learn all about the academic, athletic, and extra-curricular opportunities that await your children next year.

The Young at Art Showcase is coming up this weekend and we are proud to say that Alta Sierra has 8 classrooms worth of art on display at this showcase.

Casino Night is just days away!

Casino Night is an evening for the grown-ups to get together and let their hair down while raising funds for our school. Tickets cost $25 per person and $45 per couple and include appetizers, desserts, and gaming chips for blackjack, roulette, and craps. Not into worries...there are still tons of ways to have fun! We have more than 100 auction items for the entire family, including vacation opportunities, overnight stays, wine tastings, local gift certificates and merchandise, one year of after school care, and birthday party packages. We really hope that you can come out and join us on the night of February 20. Tickets are available in the office, online, and at the door (for a few dollars more). The doors open at 6:30pm.

Interested in challenging your 4th or 5th grade child?

Pleasant Ridge Union School District (PRUSD) would like to offer our 4th and 5th grade students the opportunity to take the qualifying exam for Sacramento State's Academic Talent Search (ATS) program. The ATS program is held over the summer on the Sacramento State campus and has five different sessions to choose from. (Click on link above for more information)

Mistletoe Mall is coming!

Mistletoe Mall gives students the opportunity to purchase new and low-priced
gifts for friends and families. Items range from 25 cents to $15. The mall opens (with each class given a scheduled time to shop) Tuesday, December 1. This PTC event is a favorite among students and parents, with dozens of parents coming out to wrap gifts and assist little shoppers.

Bear River High School event "Swing Into the Night"

The Bear River High School Jazz Band presents its 18th Annual "Swing Into the Night" on Saturday, December 5 from 7-10pm. A fun-filled evening of music enjoyment and dancing to the Hottest Tunes of the Swing Era. The MPR is transformed into a lively night club where you'll hear the likes of Benny, Tommy and Duke performed by the cool cats or our Big Band and amazing vocalists. Elegant desserts, refreshments and awards for best dancers are included. Swing dance instructors will be available for those interested in learning something new or brushing up on old skills, at no additonal cost, 'cause it don't mean a thing, if you ain't got that swing.

New, unwrapped toys will be accepted at this event in support of the Roamin' Angels Car Club's annual toy drive.

Powerschool Progress Reports Via Email

The tech department has been working out the bugs in regards to Powerschool and its ability to send out progress reports via email. It appears to be working now and should operate as it is designed from here on out. We apologize if your inbox was inundated with your child's reports, it should subside and operate as expected from now on.

State Testing Results are here!

In the past week, we have received our state testing results from 2014-2015 school year and as a school, we did fantastic!. While these results are not the only measure of our school's success, it is nice to see us doing so well. Individual reports were mailed home yesterday and should be arriving any day.
