March 18-22, 2019

Happy St. Patrick's Day! The children enjoyed giving a classroom reader's theater  presentation of "George and the Field Glasses" from Leprechaun Tales by Kathleen Green. It was marvelous! The children completed their celebration with zentangle shamrocks. It was a fun day!

Students are checking out books in our school library for their assigned mission. The mission your child has been confirmed to do went home in their Thursday folder. Much of the work will be completed in class, so don't worry about it just yet. Complete and specific instructions will go home later in April. For now, children are working on finding a library book about their mission to help write the report in class. They will type their paragraphs on a google doc so you will be able to see how they are doing from home.

Spelling City 5.4 words are available on the Spelling City site for early practice. Students will take their spelling test on Thursday.

We will visit the garden on Tuesday!

Students will begin their day with a Rally around the Flag celebration on Friday morning at the start of the school day.

We need just a few more permission slips returned for our trip to Magnolia School on Friday. Please return them ASAP if you have not done so already. Students will enjoy a Play Performance given by Magnolia students. We will  leave Alta Sierra at 9:30 a.m., and return at 12:00 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who responded to the request for funds for our special clay project. We have enough pledges to schedule the event! I will send home a request for donations in the near future.

I always feel an overwhelming appreciation for our beautiful school and all the wonderful families I have the pleasure to work with. Thank you everyone! You are all so amazing! Have a wonderful week!
