April 1-April 5, 2019

April 1-5

We have another full week ahead!

The kids had a blast watching the talent show last week.  The performers were awesome!

On Wednesday, we will do our clay project.  We are excited to give students the opportunity to work with different types of art medium.  If you have not sent in your $11 donation, and you are able to, please do so by Wednesday.

We are on spelling week words 6.2 this week. (See Spelling City.)

Time continues to fly!!!  Friday, April 12th is the middle of  the trimester.  It is only two weeks away. Please continue to check Power School to make sure your child is turning in their Red Reading Folder weekly as well as other required work.

We will continue to work on our Mission projects for Open House.  I will go over the directions for this in class, but if your child is absent they will need to keep up with the research and report on their Google Doc from home.  We have completed "Founding" and "Early History" and we will work on "Early People" in class this week. The Mission Letter went home to parents this week outlining every topic our report will cover, and explain the art projects we will complete in class for the final mission board.

If your child has not passed all levels of Xtra Math, please support your child and help them to pass their math facts.  You can look at your child’s account, and quiz them on facts that they have not mastered.  Please make sure your child is doing Xtra Math a minimum of 5 days a week if they have not passed the Multiplication section. Thank you so much for your help and support with this!  It is crucial that your child master his/her math facts by fourth grade.  If your child does not master all levels by the end of fourth grade, your child is behind.

This week in Social Studies, the 4th graders will read about the Missions in their Studies Weekly magazine.

We will read about Wild Ponies in our National Geographic REACH magazine this week.

Soon I will be sending out the Sign Up Genius for our April 27 Carnival activity.  Thank you so much to the people who have already expressed an interest to help set up or run our station.  I am asking parents to please help run the station in 30 minute time slots.  Thank you so much for your help with this!

I will also be sending out our Sign Up for our Spring Celebration early next week.

Thank you again for all of your help and support!! April is going to be a busy month!
