April 29-May 3, 2019 (No school for students on May 3)

 

Our School Carnival is on Saturday! The students did an amazing job helping to put together our booth, "Beach Ball Bowling!" Thank you to our wonderful  families who sent in supplies and helped to make this event truly remarkable!

 

Students have been working on their Mission Reports in class and will begin printing finished reports on Monday in the computer lab. Please see your child's Google Doc to assist with editing their spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar. Students who are ready may be able to print their report on Monday! You will also find a letter outlining this Mission project in the Thursday folder that went home yesterday. Mission reports/boards are due on Friday, May 10.

 

We will begin CAASPP testing on Wednesday, May 1. Please see our sign up genius to volunteer to send in testing snacks. It is important students rest well Tuesday night, and have a healthy breakfast on Wednesday morning. Our first test will be in ELA. (English/Language Arts) We will begin testing at 8:45 a.m.

 

We have a field trip to SIERRA STREAMS in Nevada City on Thursday, May 2. Please make sure your child gets to school on time since our bus will need to leave early. Students should come prepared wearing sunscreen, long pants, closed-toe shoes, a sun hat and bring a water bottle. They will keep their lunches in a group bag, so they will need their name on a disposable lunch bag. They may keep a "pocket snack" in their pocket to eat upon our arrival to the site. 

 

Due to our busy week, we will not have Spelling words to study.

Due to State testing on Wed., and our field trip on Thursday, we will only have Reading homework on Tuesday & Wednesday nights for the Red Reading Folder. Because of our schedule this week, the Red Reading Folders will be due on Friday, May 10.

 

There is no school for students on Friday, May 3, because it is a Professional Development Day for teachers.

 

Did your child tell you about their amazing painting they created with Community Canvas? They are so beautiful! They will be on display in our classroom for Open House on Thursday, May 16 at 6:00-7:00!
