November 4-8, 2019

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Halloween! Art Docent, Susie Yoho, did an incredible project with our class. Students enjoyed a costume parade, and a Halloween party. Thank you to everyone who sent in supplies, and a special thank you to Sunny and Jessica for coming in to run our food and pumpkin stations! It was a fun time for everyone!

Students will work on Spelling City Activities for word list 2.3 this week. Please remember to practice words daily on paper if you do not have access to a computer, or if the power goes out! Return the paper copy to class daily. Test on Thursday.

Please remind your child to continue working toward passing their multiplication facts on the XtraMath program. We will have a celebration for all students who pass before November 15!   There are lots of kids that have already passed all levels of XtraMath.  Thank you so much for stressing the importance of this with your child and supporting the memorization of math facts!! Please remember to turn in a paper copy of facts practiced daily if you do not have access to a computer, or if the power goes out!

We will finish up our math unit on multiplication with regrouping and begin testing this week. Please continue to monitor your child's homework and ask them to use grid paper for neatness and accuracy. Students must return the grid paper with their homework paper.

We will have the Jog-A-Thon rewards celebrations on Wednesday, November 6. Some children were given their invitation/reminder if they turned in a certain amount in pledges. Thank you EVERYONE for supporting our school!

Square 1 Art order forms went home on Thursday. The children did an amazing job on their art projects! I love the stickers! Please support our art program and consider using their special work for personalized gifts this holiday season!

Look for a note going home on Monday regarding the "Kids Can" food drive to support our local families.

Our trimester ends 11/15. Remember, if your child is not happy with his/her grades, assignments can be corrected.

Permission slips went home for our field trip to the Maidu Center. There are just a few more permission slips that need to be returned.

Thank you to parents who have already begun signing up to send in food for our Thanksgiving Celebration on Tuesday, November 26. Please refer to the sign up genius that was sent out last Thursday. As always, we are looking for volunteers to come in and help serve food, too! Thank you!

Please remember library books and Red Reading Folders are due every Friday morning, and reading folders must include initials from parents/guardians.

Thank you again for all of your support!

Every Friday is early release.
