Math Homework Help

We took our first math test on the CB today! You can check your child's scores right on their CB. The paper copy with their score will go home next week in the Thursday folder.

If your child has their Chromebook at home and knows their login information, then this is what they can do for extra help:

1. Go to PRUSD school web site
2. Click on Alta Sierra School
3. Click on Student Links
4. Click on Think Central/Go Math
5. Log in using his school Username and Password

Now they have other choices, they can either...

6. Select the tab labeled "Things to do"
7. Select the math homework desired listed as "ISE 1.____, Do if you were absent or if more help is needed." (For example ISE 1.3 is Comparing numbers and putting them in order-usually least to greatest.)

Your child will watch a Fox reteach the lesson.  It will be helpful if you can sit with them the first time at least to offer assistance as needed. It will take about 30 minutes. There will be questions to work through and to answer. If your child needs the word problems read to them, then there is a speaker icon to press. Press the arrow button on the bottom right when it flashes. If the computer is silent, there is usually something flashing that needs to be clicked on. At the end of the lesson you will see red and yellow whistles. If your child does the work indicated at the red and yellow whistles and hits the green button on the lower right corner that says, "turn in" when they are done, then I can monitor the work from my computer. In addition, I made the class a place value chart which I asked them to put in their yellow folder in their desk at school. Please tell your child it's okay to put it in their math book to take home and borrow the white board pen I gave them if they think it will help. Just remember to return it to class daily so they can use it as needed in class.

OR... They can...

Select the "Library" tab.
Find the lady in the red hat and click on her picture.
Then select a skill set to go with the concept your child needs the most help with. Work through all tabs and learn! Good job!
