Now that we are 1/2 way through the year, we are really focusing on getting the kiddos ready for 5th grade. This means we are encouraging more independence. What this will look like in class is encouraging them to really try a few strategies with something before they ask for help. (Of course they can and should always ask for help when they need it!) What we are looking for is them really working to answer the questions and use all of their skills, before just popping their hand up. Also, you may have noticed your child bringing home assignments that have been re-done at school for half points or tests that have been re-done for credit up to a C. In order to prepare them for 5th grade (and their future) we will encourage them to try their very best the first time. If they (or you) want a re-do, they will need to complete it at home and turn in by the following Friday. Thank you for your support!
