Sept. 25-29

Wow! It is beginning to feel a little more like Autumn!

Mrs. Yoho did an amazing art lesson last Wednesday.  The children created beautiful Fall pumpkins! She is scheduled to conduct 5 art docent visits with us this year, which is 3 fewer lessons than last year, due to budgetary issues. However, we can all help by raising money through programs like Jog-A-Thon or by making a donation to our classroom. We are short $100 to fund the last 3 Art Docent presentations and projects. Your support really does make a difference!

This is going to be a busy week!

Please remember that the Jog-A-Thon is this Friday.  We are so excited about the color run portion of our Jog-A-Thon this year.  It could get messy, but the kids will LOVE it!  They might want to bring a change of clothes for after the Jog-A-Thon.  Please have your child collect pledges for our school.  This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.  The money that is raised goes directly to make things better for the children at our school!  The money raised last year purchased the amazing picnic tables that the kids sit at for outside lunch.  Two years ago, the money raised purchased chrome books, which our class uses on a daily basis.  Thank you so much for supporting this event!  Our class runs from 8:30-9:00.  If you volunteered to help, please come around 8:10 in order to get kids ready to run.

Thank you so much to the parents who work in our garden and run our produce cart!   The kids had a blast in the garden this past week.  The kids participated in fun activities!  The kids love picking and tasting the fresh vegetables.  They get so excited on Tuesdays when the produce cart is out!

Wednesday morning, we will listen to Student Council candidate speeches and have our election immediately following that.  Before the end of the day Wednesday, we will elect classroom representatives.

This Friday marks the end of our mid-trimester.  You can check your child's grades on Power School. Mid-trimester grades are not finalized and can be used to help your child meet their personal goals before grades are made final at the end of the trimester on November 17.

Just a reminder, the week of October 2-6 (next week) are all minimum days for students so that teachers can conference in the afternoon.  I hope this is not too much of an inconvenience for your family!  I am really looking forward to meeting you all and discussing your child with you!

We are on spelling Week 2.2 this week. Please see Spelling City for daily spelling practice. We will attempt to take the spelling test in the computer lab on Thursday afternoon.

Thank you so much for all of your help and support. I look forward to a wonderful week with your marvelous children!
