In January, PRUSD staff had the opportunity to receive the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccination. February 17th is the scheduled date for the second shot for our staff. Reports have concluded that more people have a reaction to the second shot than the first which could keep them out of school. For this reason, we are moving instruction on February 18th and 19th to distance learning. Teaching and learning will be via distance learning on those two days. We will resume back to the regular hybrid schedule on February 22nd. We hope that this is one more step that our staff has taken to get all students back on our campuses.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility.
Alta Sierra Student Council is working with the Advocates of Nevada County to help get books into the hands of local children in foster care. * We need books for children ages 1 - 13 years old * We have a goal of collecting 150 new or gently used books * We especially need board books, easy readers, and chapter books * Donation drop box will be in the MPR
We all want kind kids. Please take time to help your children visualize and then demonstrate kindness. Each student will have a kindness planning sheet and a grid to record their acts of kindness. Take a picture or two of your child being kind and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org or to your child's teacher. Lets spread a lot of kindness in our community.
Help us make the season bright for Alta Sierra by creating a dazzling light display on campus!
Donate your unwanted light strings, rope lights, blow up characters, extension cords, etc. Bring items to the lower parking lot, where there will be a collection box at the base of the stairs to the office starting next Monday, December 7th.
Want to help us decorate? Join us on December 10th and 11th from 2:30PM until dark.
Please do not send us a giant tangle of lights or lights that only light on one side. Please put your lights in a plastic bag and if possible, let us know what color they are or multi-colored. Thank you!
In a time when we cannot host our usual holiday events, such as Mistletoe Mall or Pancake Breakfast with Santa, we are excited to bring joy and cheer to our families by Lighting up the Holidays!
Please direct any questions to the school office and thank you again for helping us create new ways to stay connected as a community.
