COVID Testing

Working with Nevada County Public Health, districts were given permission to use a negative result by a home test to readmit. Test no longer needs to be observed by a district employee to be verified. The only request is that you log the result in the link below.

You may pick up the home test at your child's school office.

The district is re-instating symptomatic testing starting Tuesday. If your child has symptoms and your are interested in assessing your children for C19, the child could not have come in direct contact with a positive case within the past 14 days. Please call the school's office to set up an appointment. There will be no drop-ins accepted.

Winter Break

School is closed for winter break December 20, 2021 through January 2, 2022.
(due to snow day on Dec 14)

Minimum Day December 17, 2021

Friday, December 17th, is a minimum day. School will be dismissed at 12:00. The buses will run at that time. School resumes Tuesday, January 4th, 2022

Spirit T-shirts and Hoodies

The Alta Sierra Student Council is collecting orders for school spirit t-shirts ($8) and hoodies ($28). A google form will be emailed to each family and you can also access it by clicking on the title of this news story. The link is on that page.
Payment is due on delivery. This is not a fundraiser. We just want kids to have a school shirt.

Gold Country Chess Kids

It's parent conference week!
Each day this week is a minimum day with dismissal at 12:00 each day.
Buses will run and the after school program is open after dismissal.
Be sure to contact your student's teacher if you have not set your conference time!

Yearbook Editor - volunteer needed

We are looking for a volunteer to assist in the editing of our yearbook. If you are looking for a way to get involved, this is a great opportunity!

The yearbook editor will help create our yearbook by organizing and designing pages with our very user-friendly software program.

Virtual Back to School Night - August 26, 2021

Due to the continued increase of COVID cases, all Back to School Night events will be virtual this year. It is not what we would like to see, but our focus is on keeping our schools open during the school day this fall.

First Day Reminders and Resources.

Fair Tickets

Fair tickets for Scholar Students are available for picked up at Alta Sierra School Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:30. The tickets are good for entry into the fair on Wednesday, August 11th between 10:00 AM-6:00 PM. Call the school office 272-2319 if you have any questions, and have a great time at the Fair!

Free Summer Meals Program: June 14 - August 2

This summer, the Pleasant Ridge Union School District will offer families free meals beginning on Monday, June 14 through Monday, August 2. Children aged 18 and younger and special education students aged 22 and younger will be given meals on Mondays that will last for the whole week (both breakfast and lunch).

Families may pick up their meals from Cottage Hill Elementary from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM every Monday. Meals will not be provided on Monday, July 5 (holiday), but instead on Tuesday, July 6.

Meals will be limited in quantity and given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
