Shoe Drive!!!

As part of our crusade to promote kindness, our students are taking part in a shoe drive with the Think Kindness organization. All shoes will be delivered to Africa. If you have any gently used tennis shoes of any size, please send them in with your student. The drive will go through November 1.

Morning Drop Off is 7:35AM

Students cannot be dropped off prior to 7:35AM when staff report for playground supervision. This includes the upper and lower parking lots.

Animals at School

We all love to share and look at puppies, kitties and lizards..ok maybe not lizards. However, we must insist that you leave all of your cute family pets at home. Whether its before, during or after school, animals must remain off campus.

Great Pumpkin Raffle

The Great Pumpkin Raffle is on!!! We had these gourds and HUGE pumpkin donated by Dusty Beahm. You can buy tickets in the library through October 5th. The winner will be announced Friday October 5th after the Jog-a-Thon. If you want your child to buy gourds or raffle tickets at school please send them with a note. We wouldn’t want anyone to end up with a 100-lb. pumpkin they didn’t want 😜🎃

EcoHero Show September 26

This fun assembly is sponsored by the City of Grass Valley (and Nevada County .
The show will reinforce/create a sustainable culture at your school and reduce litter while increasing recycling

We include real-world examples such as performer's trips sailing from Bermuda to Iceland studying plastic pollution
Teachers and students alike will be empowered and dance.
The music is great, our creator is a GRAMMY voting member and balloted artist
Students take the learning home through videos performed during the show which have 1.7 Million + YouTube views

Coloma Field Trip

Our 4th grade students from Mrs. Cornejo and Mrs. Hollister's classes went on a field trip to Coloma Ca. This is the site of Sutter's Mill and the origin of the California Gold Rush.

Book Fair is Coming! Check the website for details about when your child's class will be visiting, what will be there, if you can volunteer, online shopping and more! All proceeds directly support the school library, classroom libraries and the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program.

Back to school night is this Wednesday, August 29.
We want you to get classroom information directly from your child's teacher to make this year roll as smooth as possible.
This evening is primarily for parents but children are welcome.

Earth Assembly

Thanks to funding from our PTC, the world was literally brought to campus!
An inflatable globe in the MPR was a fun and enriching experience for all students. They toured the planet, were introduced the languages, cultures and landforms.

Our first day of school is Wednesday August 15!
School begins at 7:55AM. Students may be dropped off no earlier than 7:35AM
It is an early release day so 1st-5th grade students will dismissed at 1:05.
TK and K students are dismissed at 11:30AM through August 31.
Hot Lunch Wednesday, Aug. 15 is a hamburger. Cold lunch option is a pizza salad.

This includes the all important DEDICATION PAGES. Dedication pages are printed in everyone's yearbook.

You can order ONLINE at the TreeRing website and still receive it when everyone else does through MAY 6th.

STEAM Expo 2nd Place!

Bella Develey, Gabby Gerster, Aiden Compton and Erik VonRuden placed 2nd in the math problem solving at the STEAM Expo April 5th. They worked for 4 weeks on a problem that required planning, proving and building a prototype carton to hold batteries. This is a great group of young people. Our future is in good hands.
