Summer Library Tuesdays!

The library will be open this summer for students and
their families. Students are able to checkout books
and take AR quizzes. Please bring your children to

Coloma Field Trip

Our 4th grade students from Mrs. Cornejo and Mrs. Hollister's classes went on a field trip to Coloma Ca. This is the site of Sutter's Mill and the origin of the California Gold Rush.

Earth Assembly

Thanks to funding from our PTC, the world was literally brought to campus!
An inflatable globe in the MPR was a fun and enriching experience for all students. They toured the planet, were introduced the languages, cultures and landforms.

Come and enjoy the Elementary Band Spring Concert! Fourth and fifth grade students from Alta Sierra and Cottage Hill combine to make our elementary band. Mr. Richardson will take you through a magical musical tour in the Magnolia gym.

Orders can be made on-line until the 27th for school delivery.

This includes the all important DEDICATION PAGES. Dedication pages are printed in everyone's yearbook.

You can order ONLINE at the TreeRing website and still receive it when everyone else does through MAY 6th.

STEAM Expo 2nd Place!

Bella Develey, Gabby Gerster, Aiden Compton and Erik VonRuden placed 2nd in the math problem solving at the STEAM Expo April 5th. They worked for 4 weeks on a problem that required planning, proving and building a prototype carton to hold batteries. This is a great group of young people. Our future is in good hands.

Bon Voyage Mrs Payne!

Alison Payne is retiring! She has been a fixture at Alta Sierra School for the past 14 years. As school secretary, she interacted with thousands of students and families to make their time at Alta Sierra a success. She was a great support for teachers and administrators over the years and a tireless advocate for our school and community.

We will miss you Alison! Enjoy this new stage of your life.

Tickets on sale now!
Wear your favorite jeans and brightest bling to the Alta Sierra PTC annual spring fundraiser March 3, 6:00PM-10:00PM at the Alta Sierra Country Club.
Enjoy a fun parents' night out while supporting our children's education. All funds go to the Alta Sierra Elementary School PTC.
$25 per person/$40 per couple
There will be live and silent auctions, hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Enjoy live music by Amanda Gray.

Childcare is available on site but limited to the first 20 children. Pre-register in the school office.

Changes to the After School Rec Program

Due to the increased number of late student pick-ups from the After School Recreation Program, the late fee is increasing effective January 1, 2018. The new rate will be $10.00 plus $1.00 per minute for each student.

We had a terrific assembly to kick off Character Counts. Ask your child what they thought of the assembly


The six pillars are; Trustworthiness; Respect; Responsibility; Fairness; Caring; and Citizenship. CHARACTER COUNTS! recommends always using these pillars in this specific order to all the use of the acronym of T.R.R.F.C.C. to help remember each pillar.
