Music in the Mountains is excited to bring our Music for Young Minds program to your school in grades 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This spring we will explore music from three different countries, Mali, Greece, and India. Music for Young Minds is a highly interactive music program where your child will not only learn songs from each country but also dive into their culture learning about traditional games, literature, art, language, food, and dance. The curriculum, designed by the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall, focuses on building music skills through singing, moving and playing basic rhythm instruments. It teaches content knowledge and creativity, while approaching and developing core capacities in English language arts, and mathematics from a musical perspective. Our missiion is to empower your child with a broader knowledge of basic music skills and an understanding that even though other cultures may seem different on the outside, we are all essentially the same on the inside.
This is a reminder that our lunch orders have to be made the day prior. If your student is absent from school please call the office the day before returning to school if they will need a school lunch.

Working with Nevada County Public Health, districts were given permission to use a negative result by a home test to readmit. Test no longer needs to be observed by a district employee to be verified. The only request is that you log the result in the link below.
You may pick up the home test at your child's school office.
The district is re-instating symptomatic testing starting Tuesday. If your child has symptoms and your are interested in assessing your children for C19, the child could not have come in direct contact with a positive case within the past 14 days.
