Hello families,

Students are continuing to learn and practice routines for the new school year as we have introduced additional parts of the curriculum this week.

Thank you for your support at home - most students have had their reading journals and math homework complete this week, and we have had practice "fishbowl" book talks to teach the routines that will be part of our reading journal follow-up each day T-F.

If you haven't yet had the chance, please be sure to sign up for a Parent-Teacher conference, and consider sign-ups to be a Mystery Reader and to schedule your child's Golden Eagle week. All sign-ups can be found in the sidebar of our classroom site.

The first Scholastic book order came home today in the Thursday envelope. This paper flyer gives a good start, but please be sure to look at the site https://orders.scholastic.com/HHHNQ for an extensive selection of books, with the option to search by interest, reading level, etc. Your child's reading level is marked with a sticker on the back cover of his or her reading journal. Place an order of $25 or more and you can pick a FREE $5 book (use code READS at checkout). Please place this first order by next Friday, Sept. 8, at 1pm.
