Updates from Room 8

What a great week in the classroom. We read about the Titanic in Scholastic News, worked hard in math and 95 Phonics, and finished the week with a Mystery Reader (be sure to sign up for a time when you can surprise your child and the class!).
Next week will no doubt be memorable at Alta Sierra. Students are encouraged to wear a costume to school Tuesday morning (leave weapons and excessively scary/bloody home for this one) to wear in the parade. We'll have festive activities throughout the day in the classroom - thank you to those who have already to send in items. You can do so here: Halloween
You are welcome to be here for the parade, and if you're able, please consider staying for our STEM activity that follows: building pumpkin catapults (the "pumpkins" will be orange pom-poms and construction supplies will include craft sticks and masking tape). It should be a fun time for all!
Wednesday, November 1, is a Professional Development day for teachers with no school for students.
