Storybook Night - April 13 (Only 9 days away)

Attention Alta Sierra Families

Storybook Night is only 9 days away!

For new families (or for those who have not attended), Storybook Night is one of the best events of the year at Alta Sierra.

The night is pretty simple.....we throw on PJs, grab our blankets & teddy bears, and head to the Alta Sierra MPR on Wednesday, April 13 at 6:30pm.

There teachers from every grade level will read their favorite storybooks as parents, staff, and students munch on popcorn and get comfy in their pjs.

Students love this night (almost as much as the staff).

More information to come, but make sure you circle this date on your calendar.

Message from County Health

Good evening,

In response to the recent confirmed case of measles in a local school, Nevada County Public Health Department will be having a drive thru MMR clinic Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 1:30-4:30 pm at the Twin Cities Church.  Twin Cities church is located at 11726 Rough and Ready Hwy, Grass Valley, CA 95945. MMR immunizations will be given to those 12 months and older. We are requesting that those participating remain in their vehicle during the drive through exercise. Please bring your children’s immunization records. There will be no charge for the immunization.

If you have any questions regarding the immunization clinic, please feel free to contact me. If you have measles specific information, please contact 530-470-2502.

Thank you!

A few of our classes were lucky enough to have a guest lecture on Visual Thinking Strategies today.

A big thank you to Steve Hanson (teacher at NU) for coming out and helping our students grow!
