Message From Central Kitchen

Hello Nevada County families! March 17th is a Thursday, but not just any Thursday...It's California Thursday. That means our Child Nutrition Services Team will be serving up California food for California kids! We are proud to be offering our students a Strawberry Spinach Walnut Salad to complement their school meal. Sierra Harvest’s Farm to School Liaisons will be on hand to dole out taste tests of this popular lunch item and speak with our students and staff about the CA Thursday program and how it’s changing the future of school food in Nevada County. We hope to greet your student at lunch on Thursday March 17th! Don’t hesitate to contact the Child Nutrition Services Team ( or Sierra Harvest ( if you have any questions.

Kindle Contest

The students are participating in a quick and easy reading contest that one winner from each grade could win a Kindle of their own.
Here's how it works:
1. Student reads a book in their reading color.
2. Student takes an AR quiz on the finished book.
3. Student passes the quiz with an 80% or higher and a ticket will be added in the drawing for the kindle.
That simple, the more books the child reads the more chances they have to win.
Contest ends on Friday, March 4. The drawing will be on Thursday, March 10
