Mistletoe Mall is coming next week!

The Mistletoe Mall is a wonderful opportunity for your child to experience the joy of giving during the holiday season. This the perfect way for your child to select holiday gifts for the entire family! The gift shop will be supervised by parent volunteers who assist your child with making gift selections and managing money. You will see the joy and excitement on the face of your child when you open your gifts!

All gifts are brand new, priced below retail value, come gift wrapped, and range from 25 cents to $15 (with most being $1 - $6).  This is not a fundraiser for our school and the prices are kept as low as possible as to allow the students the largest amount of buying power!

All classes will visit the gift shop the week after Thanksgiving Break (Dec. 1 – 3).

Parent volunteers are still needed to help this event take place.  If you are interested in working a shift, please click here to see the time slots still in need of support.

4th and 5th grade students who earned "Lunch with Mr. M" at our Jog-a-thon had their opportunity to chow down on Friday.   1st and 2nd grade will have their shot on Monday with K and 3rd grade coming shortly after break.

Yes...we have school next week!

Don't forget we have school on Monday and Tuesday of next week!   Both days are normal days (7:55am - 2:00pm).

You need the kiddos at school so you can prep for Thanksgiving anyways!

Our garden project is growing!

With the help of a number of faithful volunteers, our Alta Sierra Garden is really growing!     Every class in the school has been out to the garden this year working and many classes are making it a weekly part of their program.
We were recently the recipient of matching funds from our fundraising page on    Our page is still up (link here) if you would like to donate or pass on the link to others who might.

Bear River High School event "Swing Into the Night"

The Bear River High School Jazz Band presents its 18th Annual "Swing Into the Night" on Saturday, December 5 from 7-10pm.  A fun-filled evening of music enjoyment and dancing to the Hottest Tunes of the Swing Era.  The MPR is transformed into a lively night club where you'll hear the likes of Benny, Tommy and Duke performed by the cool cats or our Big Band and amazing vocalists.  Elegant desserts, refreshments and awards for best dancers are included.  Swing dance instructors will be available for those interested in learning something new or brushing up on old skills, at no additonal cost, 'cause it don't mean a thing, if you ain't got that swing.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at
Admission:  Adults $12/each or $20/Couple
Students & Seniors $10/each or $16/Couple

New, unwrapped toys will be accepted at this event in support of the Roamin' Angels Car Club's annual toy drive.

Tomorrow is our first spirit day of the year - Sports Day!   Throw on your favorite sports gear and show your team pride tomorrow.
Editor's Note:  Our school (and by school I mean principal) highly discourages any Packers, White Sox, Pistons, Cavs, Cardinals, or Red Wings gear.
Extra recess may be given to anyone in Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Cubs gear!

Flag Retirement - Thank You Troop 1024

3rd grade through 5th grade were treated today to a valuable and patriotic lesson on flag retirement.   With our former flag looking worse for the wear, Girl Scout Troop 1024 went through the process of learning the flag retirement ceremony and leading our upper grades through the process.    We then raised our new flag as a school and sang our national anthem.
Thank you to the girls Nina Best, Selena Jensen, Carlie Harwood, Gabriella Vega, and to the amazing emcee for the event, Clara Heer.  You did a great job and helped students learn a lot about an interesting and patriotic topic!

Jog-a-thon Prizes

The students who earned the right to pie Mr. M had their chance today!  We even mixed in a few water balloon make ups to wash him off.
